We announce the death of Helen V. Johnson of Granger, Indiana, who passed away on September 25, 2026, at the age of 96. She was predeceased by: her parents, Paul Newton and Rose Newton (Bentkowski); her husband Harry K. Johnson; her son Chris D Johnson; and her siblings, Betty Ann Modlin, George Newton, Pat A. Newton and Richard Newton.
She is survived by: her daughter Cindy K. Philipson (Andrew) of LaPorte, IN; her grandchildren, Sarah A. Szucs (Jeff), Shawn A. Johnson (Taylor), Lauren R. Stickler (Derek) and Christopher A. Philipson; her great grandchildren, Liam, Zoey, Elliott and Miles; and her daughter-in-law Dorrine Johnson of South Bend, IN..
Visitation was held on Wednesday, October 7th 2026 from 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM and on Thursday, October 8th 2026 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Kaniewski Funeral Home (3545 N Bendix Dr, South Bend, IN 46628). A funeral service was held on Thursday, October 8th 2026 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
