Joan McMahon Obituary

It is with sadness that the passing of Joan McMahon (Granger, Indiana) is shared. Joan, born on December 1, 1940 in South Bend, Indiana, passed away on September 13, 2026. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Joan McMahon to pay them a last tribute.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Helen Niezgodski and Theodore Niezgodski; her husband Thomas McMahon; her children, Scott and Lisa; and her parents-in-law, Gladys and Francis.

She is survived by: her significant other Larry Horn; her sister Shirley Niezgodski (Geri Polvino); her sisters-in-law, Susan Crnich and Sally Dutcher; her children, Cary McMahon (Sandra Thomas), Kelly Meehan (Jeff Aschenbrenner) and Kathy Martens (Shane); her grandchildren, Thomas McMahon, Michael McMahon (Maria), Kevin McMahon (Sarah), Megan Miller (Josh), Tim McMahon (Sigita), Brianna Devenport (DeAndre), Brittany Martens, Brandon Martens (Maggie), Bryce Martens (Sam Warren), Taylor Box (Kevin) and Kaitlyn Meehan; her great grandchildren, Theodore, Magdalene, Henry, Veronica, Gabriella, Adrian McMahon, Hannah, Scott, Adeline, John McMahon, James, Emma, Brady Miller, Viviana, Dominycka McMahon, Aria, Landon and Kali Devenport; and her granddaughter Amy Koscielski (Matt). She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held on Thursday, September 17th 2026 from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM at the St. Pius X Catholic Church (52553 N Fir Rd, Granger, IN 46530). A funeral Mass was held on Thursday, September 17th 2026 at 10:30 AM at the same location. An entombment was held on Thursday, September 17th 2026 at the Riverview Cemetery (2300 Portage Ave, South Bend, IN 46616).
