Though John may no longer walk beside us, his spirit lives on in the memories and the legacy John leaves behind.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph VanMele and Kathleen VanMele (Pinter); his son Daniel Vanmele; and his brother Richard VanMele. He is survived by: his wife Janice Kathleen Cooper of Patrick's Catholic Church; his children, Andrea Howard (Glenn) of Elkhart and Jeffrey VanMele of Granger; and his grandchildren, Mackenzie Miller and Jase Braden.
