He was predeceased by: his parents, Norman Hafner and Irma Hafner (Gleckner); his wife Mary Lou Thomasma; and his siblings, Robert Charles, JoAnn, Norma Lou and Eleanor Hafner.

He is survived by: his daughter Tondra Jill Hafner of Granger, IN; and his brother David Hafner of Mishawaka, IN. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
