It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Verlinda Lea Cooper of Granger, Indiana, born in Elkhart, Indiana, who passed away on April 30, 2026, at the age of 85, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Clarence Tavernier and Frances Zollinger (Riley); her stepfather Lamar Zollinger; her grandfather Ralph Doty; her siblings, Ted Zollinger and Sandy Swint; and her sons, Tom Cooper and Mark Cooper.
She is survived by: her children, Steve Jackson (Sherry), David Cooper (Becky), Crystal Garcia, Jackie Mahony (Marko), Stanley Chandler and Sharon Chandler; and her brother Jerry Tavernier (Pat). She is also survived by 33 grandchildren, 65 great-grandchildren, 22 great-great-grandchildren, and 2 more great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Thursday, May 7th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Omega Event Center (2130 Middlebury St, Elkhart, IN 46516). A funeral service was held on Thursday, May 7th 2026 from 12:00 PM to 12:00 PM at the same location.
