He was predeceased by: his parents, Marie Retter (Hartley) and John S. Retter. He is survived by: his wife Ina Retter (Shin); his children, William "Rob" Retter of Mishawaka, IN and Jennifer Silver (Geoff) of Fishers, IN; and his grandchildren, Henry, Anna, Teddy, Eliza, Lorelei, Jack and Robbie.
