He was predeceased by: his parents, Wendell Shaw Vermilion and Nettie Oval Vermilion Pettit (Duncan); his children, Constance, Christina and Richard; and his brothers, Steven Ray Vermilion, Jerry DeWayne Vermilion and Ronald Lynn Vermillion.

He is survived by: his sister Debbra Burk (Stephen). He is also survived by several grandchildren and great grandchildren; and nieces & nephews.
