He was predeceased by : his parents, Kenneth R. Stephan and Jacqueline M. Stephan; his sister Kathleen "Katie" Homrighausen; and his pets, Mouser and Xena.

He is survived by : his wife Kathy E. Stephan; his brother Robert J. Stephan of Houston, TX; his son Eric T. Stephan (Andrea "Skye" Drake); his stepdaughter Erika L. Haynes (Matthew "Thax" Griffith) of Austin, TX; his son Alex D. Stephan of Austin, TX; his grandchildren, Sadie and Solomon of Blanco, TX; his stepdaughter Holly A. McLauchlin (John "Mac" McLauchlin); his granddaughter Emeleia of Bloomington, IN.; and also Richard.
