She was predeceased by: her parents, Ayler "Doc" Nelson and Margaret Bunten Nelson; her sisters, Nancy Baumgart and Carole Wright; and her brothers-in-law, Ron Baumgart, Ned Wright and Jerry Mann.
She is survived by: her husband Fred; her sons, Michael (Diana), Robert (Malinda), Christopher (Jennifer) and Joseph (Angela); and her sister Marcia Whaley. She is also survived by fourteen grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 16th 2026 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Hopkins - Rector Funeral Home (4 Percy L Julian Dr, Greencastle, IN 46135). A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 16th 2026 from 1:00 PM to 1:30 PM at the same location. A committal service will be held on Friday, October 16th 2026 from 2:00 PM to 2:15 PM at 2181 S County Rd 50 W, Greencastle, IN 46135.
