With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Roy Erwin Shoemaker of Greencastle, Indiana, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on February 11, 2026 at the age of 95. For Roy is not truly gone, but merely transformed, his energy intertwined with the fabric of the universe itself, forever dancing among the stars.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Worley Shoemaker and Edna Shoemaker (Dicks); his wife Marilyn Shoemaker; and his siblings, Mary Lou Alsop, Lee, Russell and John Shoemaker.

He is survived by: his daughter Cathy Richey; his sister-in-law Betty Shoemaker; and his grandchildren, Noah Richey Brownsburg (Helen) and Micah Richey. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
