He was predeceased by: his parents, Francis E. Sanford and Florence M. Sanford (Ewick); his wife Martha Sanford (Ford); his sons, Brian Sanford and Rod Sanford; his great grandchild Cole Joyce; and his siblings, Larry Sanford, Phyllis Cole, Dale Sanford and Harlan Sanford.
He is survived by: his son Steve Sanford; his daughters-in-law, Diane Sanford and Cyndy Sanford; his grandchildren, Beth, Brett, Ryan, Michael, Mark, Katie, Joe and Reggie; and his great grandchildren, Kaylyn, Garyn, Gianna, Ashlyn, Carter, Tyler, Warren, Elsie, Noah, Owen, Olivia, Juliette, Lyla, Audrey, Trace, Nolan, Rosie, Kate and Kai.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 11th 2026 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Erlewein Mortuary & Crematory (1484 US-40, Greenfield, IN 46140). A funeral service will be held on Sunday, October 11th 2026 at 4:00 PM at the same location.
