He was predeceased by: his parents, James Mayfield and Charlotte Mayfield (Badger); and his sister Bettye Pierce. He is survived by: his wife Jane Mayfield (Rhodes); his children, Julie Bowers (Tim), Lori Mayfield, Sherri Sams (Paul) and Tony Mayfield; his brother James Mayfield; his grandchildren, Sarah Bowers (Clay), Rachel Matheson (Tim), Tanner Mayfield (Alyssa), Allison Gold (Tristan), Sophie Sams and Audrey Sams; and his great grandchildren, Wesley, Luke, Hadley, Harper and Hazel.
Visitation was held on Sunday, November 23rd 2025 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and on Monday, November 24th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. A Mass was held on Monday, November 24th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the St. Matthew Catholic Church (4100 E 56th St, Indianapolis, IN 46220).
