Melva Jean (Harding) Smith Obituary
With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Melva Jean (Harding) Smith of Greenfield, Indiana, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on October 11, 2025 at the age of 82. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Carl Harding and Martha Harding. She is survived by: her husband Dennis K. Smith; her daughter Laura Hodge Smith of Greenfield; her grandchildren, Zakary Cline (Corinne Stantz) of Pinellas Park and Carmen Chavez (Logan Joyce) of Greenfield, Indiana.; her sisters, Linda Harding Pope (Robert Pope) of Indianapolis and Sue Harding Wells (Melvin Wells) of Greenfield, Indiana.; and her pets, Benny, Marshmallow and Skeeter. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins.
Visitation will be held on Monday, October 20th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Stillinger Family Funeral Home, Pasco Chapel (1780 W Main St, Greenfield, IN 46140). A funeral service will be held on Monday, October 20th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Alzheimer's Association or Riley Children's Hospital. Keep Melva's legacy alive by donating to a charity in need.
