With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Melva Jean (Harding) Smith of Greenfield, Indiana, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on October 11, 2025 at the age of 82. She was predeceased by: her parents, Carl Harding and Martha Harding. She is survived by: her husband Dennis K. Smith; her daughter Laura Hodge Smith of Greenfield; her grandchildren, Zakary Cline (Corinne Stantz) of Pinellas Park and Carmen Chavez (Logan Joyce) of Greenfield, Indiana.; her sisters, Linda Harding Pope (Robert Pope) of Indianapolis and Sue Harding Wells (Melvin Wells) of Greenfield, Indiana.; and her pets, Benny, Marshmallow and Skeeter. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins.
