He was predeceased by: his parents, Dewey D. Powell and Marion Powell (Elzick); his former wife Kay N. Hall; and his siblings, Sarah Ellen Moore, Ruby Louise Davis, Linda Belle Ward and Elmer D. Powell.
He is survived by: his wife Suzanne E. Barnard; his children, Theresa Warner (Jim), Lori Adams (Chuck), Lisa Hollin (Grant), Brett Burton (Debra), Tanner Burton (Rena) and David Burton (Eva); and his sister Fay Tichenor. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren and several great grandchildren.
