He was predeceased by : his father Irvin Spangler; his son Jeffrey Spangler; and his siblings, Eugene Spangler, Mary Kendall, Ruth Moore and June Troyer.

He is survived by : his wife Norma Jean Durr; his children, Greg Spangler, Mike Spangler (Pami) and Susan Silvey (Curt); his sister Norma Lamb; and his brother-in-law John Troyer. He is also survived by 9 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren.
