He was predeceased by: his parents, Gilbert Speidel and Mildred Speidel (Lawrence); his wife Mary; and his sister Mary Lee Webb. He is survived by: his children, David Speidel (Lisa), Ella Walker (Jeff) and Leslie Connolly (Joe); his grandchildren, Jamie Wieringa (Nick), Quinn Connolly (Taylor), Micayla Pier (Micah), Noah Connolly, Josh Speidel (Madison), Zach Connolly and Molly Connolly; his great grandchildren, Owen, Annie and Harper Pier; and his sister Maggie Harris.
