He was predeceased by: his father Larry Elmo Butcher; his half-brother Mark Butcher; and his uncle John Butcher. He is survived by: his mother Linda Martin (Haines); his brother B. J. Butcher; and his aunts and uncles, Sharon Blankenbaker, Janice Voorhis (Alan), Jerry Haines (Ann) and Jack Haines (Robbin).
