We are sad to announce that on January 31, 2024, at the age of 90, Billy Ray Moore (Greenwood, Indiana) passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by : his parents, Walter Moore and Estella Moore (Bishop); his wife Thelma Moore; his daughter Marilyn Gosc; and his siblings, James Moore, Don Moore, Sidney Moore, Jerry Moore, Victor Moore, Bud Moore, Walter Moore, Jr., David Moore, Thelma Wise and Alma Dickinson.

He is survived by : his children, Zetta Jones (Andy), Billie Love-Moore (Tim Moore), Billy Moore II, Brenda Couch (Eric) and Diane Smith. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; a sister.

For those choosing to make a memorial contribution, the family has suggested those be offered to the American Cancer Society.

Ed Wise wrote a sympathy message

“My sincere condolences to the family and friends of Billy Ray Moore, the best uncle and friend I could ever have. I have many great memories of Uncle Bill. He was a mentor in my youth when I had no father and a friend throughout my life as an adult. Uncle Bill took me in when I had a conflict with my beloved mother and needed a place to sleep for a few weeks. After I married we shared many evening’s playing card games and socializing. I will miss him.”
