He was predeceased by: his parents, William George (Bill) and Martha Jane Zimmer (McCarty); and his brothers, Gary and Jack. He is survived by: his nephews, Brian Zimmer (Jessika) and Geoffrey Zimmer; his niece Nicole Cook (Daryl); his great-niece Kylee Yates; his great-nephews, Quinten Zimmer, Eli, Draven and Liam Cook; and his close friend Dana Pearson.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
