He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward Johnson, Sr. and Dolores Kistner; and his siblings, Rita, Kathy and Charlie.
He is survived by: his wife Carol Ann Koetter of Floyds Knobs; his children, Eric Johnson, Sarah Johnson (Eliane), Jeff Johnson (Sarah) and Emily Hatch (Ryan); his grandchildren, Annie, Leo, Graham, Poppy and Jameson; and his siblings, Jean Webb (David), Mary Michael (Bob), Jim Johnson (Anita) and Tim Johnson (Tina). He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, September 16th 2026 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Branson Funeral Service & Crematory (6107 S East St, Indianapolis, IN 46227). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, September 16th 2026 from 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the same location. A Mass of Christian burial was held on Thursday, September 17th 2026 at 10:30 AM at the St. Barnabas Catholic Church (8300 Rahke Rd, Indianapolis, IN 46217). A graveside service was held on Thursday, September 17th 2026 from 2:00 PM to 2:30 PM at the Calvary Cemetery (435 W Troy Ave, Indianapolis, IN 46225).
Memorials in Ed's name may be made to St. Anthony Food Pantry (envelopes will be available at the funeral home and at St. Barnabas), or you may bring a non perishable food item to the visitation to be drop off, or St. Barnabas Catholic Church.
