He was predeceased by: his parents, Ellis August and Bertha May Dahl (Bales); his wife Julia (Bray); his sons, Gary Eugene and James Armon; and his granddaughter Carrie.

He is survived by: his children, Ronald, Robert Dahl (Kathleen) and Tonia Richman (Steve); and his daughter-in-law Patricia Dahl (Conley). He is also survived by 11 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.
