He was predeceased by: his father George Dean Scharton Sr.; and his parents-in-law, Henry and Nora Towles. He is survived by: his mother Erma Eunice Gomez McWay; his wife Theresa L. Scharton of Greenwood; his son Garrett Scharton (Caroline); his grandson Lincoln of Richardson; his son Grant Scharton (Lynzi); his grandchildren, Conrad, Victoria of Johns Creek and Georgia; his children, Greg Scharton of Greenwood and Megan Ojeda (Robert); his grandson Justin of New Albany; his daughter Abigail Stout (Chase) of Terre Haute; and his sister Gina Scharton (Juan Garcia). He is also survived by eight nieces and nephews.
