He was predeceased by: his father Ellis Nelson; and his sister Rebecca Hutchens. He is survived by: his wife Bonnie Jean; his children, James Rhea Gary, II (Tiffany Lynn) of Shelbyville, Amanda Wilson, Amy Willert and Andrea Gary; and his siblings, Cindy Pettijohn, Mary Breeck, Dennis Gary, Jeannie Fisher, Janice Gary, Harry Gary, Nelson Gary, Elaine Romanchik and Ellis Gary. He is also survived by four grandchildren and one great grandchild.
