He was predeceased by: his parents, William T. and Mary E. Mathews (Porter); and his grandson Kurtly Ernstes. He is survived by: his children, Laura Mathews, Michelle Hogan, Mike Hogan (Dawn), Kara Ernstes and James Hogan (Mandy); and his sisters, Darlene Holcomb (William) and Phyllis Tuttle (Robert). He is also survived by five grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, and six nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life was held on Wednesday, July 16th 2025 from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Greenwood American Legion Post #252 (334 US 31 S, Greenwood, IN 46142).
