He was predeceased by: his parents, Carl William Schaffer Sr. and Viola Frances Schaffer (Herring). He is survived by: his sisters, Nancy Sue Girdley (Schaffer) and Sally Irene Abernathy (Schaffer); his wife Vicki Lynne Schaffer (Sedam); his son Stephen Kenneth Schaffer (Rachael); his grandsons, Keith Robert Harpenau, Kyle Joseph Schaffer (Jack) and Stephen Hunter Schaffer; and his great grandchild Logan James Dukes.
