He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Edward and Lorena Belle Howell; his siblings, Doris Crump, Margaret Harris, David Howell and Dennis Howell; his sisters-in-law, Cheryl Howell and Mary Howell; and his son-in-law Timothy Carman.
He is survived by: his wife Jean Howell (Meneely); his children, Patricia Carman and Aaron Howell; his granddaughters, Sarah Carman Jaeger (Emmett) and Tanna Small (Eric); his great grandchildren, Emilia, Rachel, Gabby, Jude and Zane; and his siblings, John Howell, George Howell, Ruth McClure (Danny) and Kathleen Howell. He is also survived by his many nieces and nephews.
