Rema Dixie Jong Obituary
We are sad to announce that on December 7, 2025, at the age of 90, Rema Dixie Jong of Greenwood, Indiana passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, George C. Hamby and Georgia Hamby (Dilbeck); her husband Chong M. "Jimmy" Jong; her siblings, Lee Hamby, Bessie Hardwick, Maynard Hamby and Linda Powell; and her grandsons, Austin, Noah and Jaxton.
She is survived by: her children, Patricia Burton (Kenny), Richard Newberry (Joy), Tammy Webb (Denny) and Michele Jong (Joe). She is also survived by 13 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and 8 great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 10th 2025 from 12:30 PM to 2:30 PM at the G. H. Herrmann Greenwood Funeral Home (1605 S State Rd 135, Greenwood, IN 46143). A celebration of life will be held on Wednesday, December 10th 2025 at 2:30 PM at the G. H. Herrmann Funeral Home and Cremation Center (1605 S State Rd 135, Greenwood, IN 46143). A burial will be held on Thursday, December 11th 2025 at 10:30 AM at the Forest Lawn Memory Gardens (1977 S State Rd 135, Greenwood, IN 46143).
Memorial contributions may be made to Riley Children's Hospital, honoring Rema's life of faith, compassion, and service.
