She was predeceased by: her parents, Will T. Troutt and Margaret Frances Clark (Carter); her stepfather William Clark; and her siblings, Judy Cook and David Troutt.

She is survived by: her children, Stephen Smith (Betsy) and Margaret "Katie" Bui (Shane); her grandchildren, Jacob Smith, Charles Smith, Maya Smith and Revan Bui; and her sisters, Angela White and Scharon Clark. She is also survived by nieces and nephews.
