He was predeceased by: his nephew Mike Dietz; his parents, Irvin Dietz and Bernadette Dietz; his brother Ralph Dietz; and his sister-in-law Marilyn Dietz.

He is survived by: his son Tommy Dietz, Jr. (Michele); his grandchildren, Nicolas and Sophia Dietz; his brother Patrick Jones (Jacqueline); his close friend Abigail Patterson (Miss Gay); and his nieces and nephews, Jan Dietz, Kathy Dietz, Steve, Maureen Klekar (Dietz), Bob, Trisha Anderson (Jones) and Jennifer Riley (Jones).

The family has requested that in lieu of flowers that donations be made to the Alzheimer's Foundation.
