He was predeceased by: his parents, Gerald Gettig and Easter L. Zech (Nee Houchins); his brother John Szozda; and his stepfather Jacob Abshire. He is survived by: his wife Cheryl; his children, Denise Winter, Brad Gettig (Dawn), Jennifer Isaac (Mark), Erik Gettig, Jacob Gettig, Kristopher Gettig (Beth) and Ryan Gettig; and his sister-in-law Louise Szozda. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren.
