He was predeceased by: his parents, Rolla Smith and Grace Smith (Minnix); and his siblings, Wilburn, Robert, James, Howard Roger, Everette Smith and Thelma Jo Hensley.

He is survived by: his sons, Adam Logan Smith of Grovertown and Dustin Riley Smith of Barbourville; and his sisters, Linda G Wojciechowski (Carl) of Knox, Brenda K Long of Monterey, Susie Carter (John) of South Bend, Eloise E Martin (Julio) of Highalea, Yvonne A Daley (Ron) of Grovertown, Cindy Polsinelli (Roy) of Maryville and Gwendolyn G Good (Dean) of Monterey. He is also survived by 5 grandchildren, many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.
