She was predeceased by: her parents, Mark Dempsey and Clara Smith (Bates); and her siblings, Jane Tedder, Joann Baker, Chuck Smith and Johnny Ray Smith.
She is survived by: her husband Ronnie Shook; her children, Samuel Burton (Caroline) of Dallas, TX, Jennifer Burton of Richmond, Randall Shook of Ringgold, GA and Ashley Patton (Rance) of Hagerstown; her grandchildren, Alyssa Burton (Noah Rich), Cameron Newman, Jaedyn Patton and Jaryn Patton; her great grandchildren, Elliana Rich and Elijah Rich; and her siblings, David Rick Combs (Sylvia), Alice Barks (Bruce) and Harold Lucas (Brigitte).
Visitation was held on Thursday, October 1st 2026 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Culberson Funeral Home - Hagerstown (51 W Washington St, Hagerstown, MD 47346). A funeral service was held on Thursday, October 1st 2026 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
