She was predeceased by: her parents, Clyde Barnard and Geneva Barnard (Timmons); her husband Melvin C. Messer; and her siblings, Esther Ames, Charles (Chob), Ernie and Paul.
She is survived by: her children, Steve Messer (Thalia), Rick Messer (Elaine), Christine Casteel (Rodney) and Scott Messer (Ronda); and her sisters-in-law, Maxine Manifold, Beverly Messer, Marlene Bath, Margie Weiser (Ray), Faye Barnard and Sandy Barnard. She is also survived by 9 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren.
