He was predeceased by: his parents, Gus David Coyer Jr. and Barbara Kay Scarborough (Nablo); his sister Teri; and his great-nephew David Williams. He is survived by: his sisters, Tobie Cox (Jeff) of Union Mills, Tammy Bell (Gordon) of Union Mills and Joy Dunlap (Orlando) of Kingsford Heights; his nephews, Gus Castle and Edmund Castle III; his children, Samantha, Brandi, Justin, Jamison and Kayt; and his grandchildren, Gabriel, Clare and Anthony. He is also survived by many other nieces and nephews.
