We announce the death of Loretta J. Shrout (Hamlet, Indiana), who passed away on October 20, 2026, at the age of 90. Loretta will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. Loretta will be remembered for the impact she had on the lives of those around her. Friends, family, and colleagues will cherish their memories and the time shared. Loretta’s absence will be deeply felt by those who valued her companionship.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Cleo Welch and Margaret Welch; her husband Leigh Shrout; her brothers, Richard Welch and Merle Welch; and her nieces, Karen Welch and Susan Kitt (Welch).
She is survived by: her niece Mary Beth Welch Reel; her nephew Steve Welch (Patty); and her sisters-in-law, Joan Welch and Carol Welch. She is also survived by several great-nieces and great-nephews; great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews; one great-great-great niece.
A graveside service will be held on Monday, November 2nd 2026 at 11:00 AM and at 12:00 PM.
