Family and friends must say goodbye to their beloved Geraldine (Obuch) Riebe of Hammond, Indiana, who passed away at the age of 94, on September 19, 2025. She was predeceased by: her husband Steve; her parents, Walter Obuch and Mary Obuch (Komar); and her siblings, Walter, Ambrose, Donald Obuch and Luelle Kutcka.
She is survived by: her children, Bruce Riebe, Brian Riebe (Theresa), Bernadette Lodico (Marc) and Robert Riebe (Melissa); her grandchildren, Steven (Victoria), Erica, Eric (Nimisha), Aiden and Devin; and her siblings-in-law, Helen, Monica, Cynthia Obuch, Marge Osborne and Richard Kutcka. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Friday, September 26th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Solan Pruzin Funeral Home (14 Kennedy Ave, Schererville, IN 46375). The lying in state was held on Saturday, September 27th 2025 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at the St. Nicholas Byzantine Catholic Church (8103 Columbia Ave, Munster, IN 46321). A funeral service was held on Saturday, September 27th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Dementia Society of America, Transitions Care Hospice, or any charity of choice.
