It is with sadness that the passing of Ruby Avila of Hammond, Indiana is shared. Ruby, born on September 29, 1992, passed away on August 23, 2026. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She is survived by: her parents, Maria Rodriguez and Margarito Rodriguez; her grandparents, Ernestina Rodriguez and Bernabe Avila; her siblings, Antonio Salgado (Katherine), Hector Avila (Samyrah) and Maritza Hernandez (Aaron); her aunts and uncles, Jose Avila (Charlie), Saul Avila (Gina), Rodolfo Avila (Elena), Gustavo Avila, Enriqueta Hernandez (Jesus), Imelda Ruiz (Alvarado), Rosy Sotuyo and Eduardo Hernandez (Angelica); and her nieces and nephews, Korra Salgado, Kalani Aguilar, Yahritza Hernandez, Alejandro Salgado, Elijah Rodriguez and Logan Dawson. She is also survived by numerous cousins and many other family members.
Visitation was held on Thursday, August 27th 2026 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Friday, August 28th 2026 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at the Ministerio Torres Fuerte (3801 Deodar St, East Chicago, IN 46312). A burial was held on Friday, August 28th 2026 at the St. John Cemetery (1547 167th St, Hammond, IN 46320).
