It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Viola Young of Hammond, Indiana, who passed away on June 6, 2020, at the age of 79, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Robert Nesmith and Julia Dukes. She is survived by: her husband Richard Young; and her daughters, Patricia Ellen Mowry (Shawn) and Diane Sue Sullivan. She is also survived by five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; brothers; sisters; nieces; nephews and friends.

A funeral service for Viola Young will be held at Bocken Funeral Home 7042 Kennedy Avenue, Hammond, IN 46323 on Thursday, June 11, 2020 at 12:30 p. m. with Pastor Jeffrey Hannon officiating, current Covid-19 restrictions and social distancing must be observed.

In lieu of flowers memorial may be made to the Alzheimer's research.
