It is with sadness that the passing of William Sojka of Hammond, Indiana is shared. William, born on July 29, 1953, passed away on October 5, 2026. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
William will be remembered for the time spent with loved ones and the moments that brought joy to those around him. Friends and family will honor William by reflecting on shared memories and the positive influence he had in their lives. Though William is no longer present, the bonds he created and the experiences shared will endure. William’s memory will continue to be a source of comfort for all who knew him.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Edmund, Sr. Sojka and Josephine Sojka (Dobosz); and his brothers, Edmund, Jr. and Robert Sojka. He is survived by: his wife Janice M. Sojka (Skrzypek); his son Jonathan M. Sojka (Patty); his grandchildren, Valerie Sojka and Allen Joseph "A. J." Sojka; and his sisters-in-law, Ann Marie Sojka (Chrustowski) and Karen S. Kokandy (Phil). He is also survived by 2 nieces, 3 nephews and many cousins.
A celebration of life will be held on Wednesday, October 21st 2026 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Fife Funeral Home (4201 Indianapolis Blvd, East Chicago, IN 46312).
