He was predeceased by: his parents, Margaret Marie Kidd Koontz and James Edward Koontz; and his siblings, Daniel S. Koontz, Donald E. Koontz and Yvonne Carol Manning.
He is survived by: his wife Carolyn Ann Hemmer Koontz of Hanover, Indiana; his children, Mark Koontz (Angela) of Madison, Indiana and Linda Ann King of Madison, Indiana; his grandchildren, Kara Bayne (Wes), Katelyn Carter (Wyatt), Jaydon Douglas Koontz and Dayton Owen King; his great grandchildren, Everly June Bayne, Lainey Claire Bayne, Colton Liam Carter and Alaina Lynn Carter; and his siblings, Duane D. Koontz of Hanover, Michael D. Koontz of Hanover, Indiana, Deborah L. Jacobson of Brooksburg, Donna M. Lytle of Madison and Marta D. Tingle of Madison, Indiana. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews.
Visitation will be held on Monday, October 13th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Tuesday, October 14th 2025 from 9:00 AM to 10:30 AM at the Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre (325 Demaree Dr, Madison, IN 47250). A rosary will be held on Monday, October 13th 2025 at 7:00 PM at the same location. A funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, October 14th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Prince of Peace Catholic Church (413 E 2nd St, Madison, IN 47250).
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or the Prince of Peace Catholic Church.
