He was predeceased by : his parents, Lloyd Lauter and Marjorie Joyce Lauter; his son Lloyd Nelson, III; and his son-in-law Clayton Schott. He is survived by : his wife Janet Miller Lauter; his daughters, Nancy Robison (James) of Otisco, IN, Sharon Norris of Tampa, FL and Dawn Wills (Bryan) of New Washington, IN; his brothers, Rev. Roy Lauter (Sue) of Wilmore, KY and Galen Lauter (Mary) of Hanover, IN; his grandchildren, Natasha Robison, Haley Rice (Logan), Michael Dickey (Mallory), Brandon Wills (Courtney), Brittany Wills and Nelson Norris; and his great grandchildren, Lilah Rice, Lennon Rice, Violet Johnson, Eliana Wills and Braelynn Wills. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held on Monday, April 15th 2024 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Tuesday, April 16th 2024 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Grayson Funeral Home-New Washington (206 E Main St, New Washington, IN 47162). A celebration of life was held on Tuesday, April 16th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
