He was predeceased by: his parents, Wilmer O. Newman, Sr. and Evelyn Mae Robbins Newman; and his siblings, Betty Rogers, Mary Reed and Wilmer "Bud" Newman, Jr..
He is survived by: his caregiver Deborah L. Moreland Gosman of Hanover, Indiana; and his brother Orville Newman of Madison, Indiana. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews.
