He was predeceased by : his parents, Daniel Dawson and Helen Dawson (Pepe). He is survived by : his wife Cheryl A. Dawson of Harlan, Indiana; his sons, Ryan Dawson of Richmond, Rich Dawson (Heather) of Martinsville and Randy Dawson (Mindy Meadows) of St. Joe, Indiana; his grandchildren, Kourtney, Bailey, Madelyn, Liam and Carter; and his siblings, Bradley Dawson (Francee) of Calabasas, Eric Dawson (Leann) of Wolcottville and Lori of Pennsylvania. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be directed to ProMedica Heartland Hospice.
