We bid farewell to Thomas Edward Walters of Harlan, Indiana, whose journey of life gracefully concluded on September 29, 2025 at the age of 83. Thomas touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. He was predeceased by: his parents, Claude Walters and Vivian Walters (Flick); his wife Shirley; his son Bradley Young; his brother Richard Walters; his grandson Bryan Kolt Young; and his son-in-law Jeff Taylor.
He is survived by: his children, Vanessa Petry (Duane), Brian Young (Beverly), Debra Taylor, Glen Walters, Vonda Young and Melanie Moses (Mike); and his siblings, Ronald Walters and Carolyn Gilbert. He is also survived by 15 grandchildren; and 26 great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Monday, October 6th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Tuesday, October 7th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Harper's Community Funeral Home (740 IN-930, New Haven, IN 46774). A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, October 7th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the same location.
