He was predeceased by : his parents, John Allen and Norma J. Strine (Darnell); and his grandparents, John, Daisy H. Strine (Cheney) and Wretha Darnell.

He is survived by : his wife Becky (Whitesell); his children, Dathen Strine (Julie), Brandy Tibbs (Doug), Joe Barkdull (Keisha), Kristy Hedge (Ryan), Josh Barkdull (Ashley), Misty Barkdull (Warren) and Gavin Strine (Tarick); and his siblings, Steve Strine (Amy) and Nancy Soultz (Gary). He is also survived by aunts, uncles and cousins.

Memorials may be made to the Blackford County Community Foundation, to help establish a scholarship in Doug's name.
