He was predeceased by: his parents, Garry Kasten and Gladys Kasten (Deardorff); his son Ricky Allen Kasten; and his siblings, Garry, Gladys "Sug" Shroyer, Marilyn Dodrill and Shirley Claussen.

He is survived by: his wife Jill; his children, Ginger Copeland of DeMotte, Indiana, Randy Kasten (Stella) of South Carolina and Lori Kubiak (Joseph) of Hebron, Indiana; his grandchildren, Chad, Jilissa, Ashley, Dustin, Trisha, Matthew, Luke, Cam and Sofia; and his great grandchildren, MaKenzie, Zander, Emma, Braxton, Brooklyn and Bensen. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
