In the vast expanse of eternity, Barbara shall find rest, cradled in the arms of everlasting peace. And as we bid Barbara farewell, her loved ones carry with them the precious gift of her memory, a beacon of hope guiding them through the shadows of sorrow towards the light of a new dawn.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Clare Hirsch Cohen and Charles Cohen. She is survived by: her former husband Peter F. Hammel; her granddaughter Jacqlyn Clare Marantette; and her great grandchildren, Dean Michael Marantette and Adelyn Joanie Marantette.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Glenkirk organization, which provides crucial support and care for her son Jon and others with intellectual disabilities.
