He was predeceased by: his parents, Chester H. Balzer, Sr. and Ethel Balzer. He is survived by: his wife Nancy Balzer; his brothers, Richard (Angie), Robert (Cheryl) and Chris (Linda); and his stepchildren, Catherine Conlin, Greg Cherechinsky (Nancy), David Cherechinsky (Tara), Nancy Speroff (David) and JoAnne Norris (late Patrick). He is also survived by 9 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held on Friday, December 5th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Saturday, December 6th 2025 at 10:00 AM. A funeral service was held on Saturday, December 6th 2025 at 10:30 AM at the St. James Church (9640 Kennedy Ave, Highland, IN 46322).
