With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Donald Shapiro (Highland, Indiana), born in Chicago, Illinois, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on September 12, 2025 at the age of 78. He was predeceased by: his wife Debbie Shapiro; his parents, Reuben Shapiro and Joyce Shapiro; and his brother Charles Shapiro. He is survived by: his children, Karolyn Raphael (Lance), Adam Shapiro (Deanna), Leah Shapiro and Natalie Grantner (Matt); his grandchildren, Liam, Merrick, Eryn Raphael, Joseph, Emilia Shapiro, Andrew, William, Elizabeth Mckenzie, Josephine and Nadine Grantner; and his siblings, Joseph, Dennis, Michael, Gene and Christine.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 15th 2025 from 3:00 PM to 5:30 PM at the Hillside Funeral Home & Cremation Center (8941 Kleinman Rd, Highland, IN 46322). A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, October 15th 2025 at 5:30 PM at the same location.
