He is survived by: his wife Elva Mercado; his children, Javier Jr. Mercado (Cristina), Raquel Villarreal (Nano) and Adrian Mercado (Maria); his grandchildren, Julian, Damion, Iyon, Yanni, Giovanni, Remy, Carolina, Matias, Sebastian, Isabella, Cristian and Luciano; his mother Raquel Amador Mercado; and his siblings, Emma Carbajal, Alicia Yanez, Lucilla Sanchez, Guillermina Mercado, Raquel Jones, Ofelia Rosales and Roberto Mercado. He is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
